We had the pleasure of visiting Bicycle House and learning more about their local initiatives. They are a hardworking group focused on making Tallahassee a better place, one bike at a time.

The Mission.

“Our primary mission is to serve people in need”

Bicycle House is a nonprofit that provides an opportunity for someone who otherwise could not afford a bike. They utilize donated bikes by refurbishing them and make them available to the public. They operate on a first-come-first-serve basis no matter your financial status. They also offer bike repairs to those in need and are willing to work with anyone's budget.

How You Can Help.

Monthly Membership

Bike House has a monthly membership donation of $10 a month. This helps to cover the cost of bikes for others who find themselves struggling financially. They believe their monthly membership helps them become one step closer to becoming truly a “community-supported” organization.

Donate a Bike

For those who are unable to donate but are still looking to contribute to Bicycle House’s impactful community efforts, donating a bike is a wonderful way to support them. Bike House is always accepting old bikes that are no longer wanted or used. One aspect of their organization is refurbishing donated bikes. They accept all bikes and will repair or use them for parts.

Volunteer

If you’re looking to get involved, Bicycle House is always looking for volunteers! They offer all kinds of volunteer opportunities that don’t require any prior experience working with bicycles. They have different programs, like their group workshops and apprentice mechanic programs. If you’re not interested in mechanics, they also utilize those with administrative abilities to help schedule appointments, answer the phone, and keep track of inventory. There is truly a space for anyone at Bicycle House. Plus, you’ll meet some furry companions while you’re there!
