At Domi Station, we want to provide a productive, inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative environment for everyone.

Below are our main values that should be kept in mind as we conduct ourselves as members and guests.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for everyone who uses the space, whether as a coworker, program participant, or organizer or attendee of meetups and other events taking place here. The code of conduct applies not only in our space, but also in our online networks, all related events, and one-on-one communications carried out in the context of community business. It also states the consequences of violating these expectations.

It is expressly understood and agreed that both membership at Domi Station (as well as the right to be on the premises for anyone), and the ability to participate in its programs, is granted (and can be rejected) by Domi Station in its sole discretion. Inclusion and community diversity/acceptance is something that we take very seriously, and Domi Station does not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion/creed, national origin, sex/gender identity, age, physical/mental disability, veteran status, genetic background or citizenship.

VALUES

Stewardship

All Domi members are expected to be team players! We expect stewardship and a commitment to provide a productive, welcoming, collaborative and enjoyable space for all. This starts by helping keep the space clean and organized. Wash your dishes, throw away your trash, clean any dirty surfaces, etc.

Coworking is not just a space with resources, but also being a part of a community. Participate in an authentic and proactive way, exercising consideration and respect in your speech and actions with other members and guests.

After hours access
As a new individual member, you will go through a 2-week waiting period before receiving 24/7 access. This will allow you to learn the coworking ropes at Domi Station and get to know some existing members. Once the 2 week period is over, you can gain 24/7 access after one of our staff members vouches for you.

Productivity

The coworking space at Domi Station is a shared and open space where noise travels. Please be mindful of your volume. Whether talking, eating, or engaging with your coworkers or guests, please be mindful of the people around you.

Conversation Volume
Loud conversations tend to be distracting to those around you, making it difficult to focus. Be mindful and use your “inside voice” at all times. If you need to make a phone call, please use the phone booth, book a conference room, or go to the lobby.

Headphone Rule
If you see someone with headphones on, know that they are “in the zone” and probably don’t want to be disturbed.

Guests
When bringing guests to Domi Station, keep in mind that you are fully responsible for your guest’s actions. Guests cannot stay at the space without a member, except when waiting at the lobby during office hours. We expect everyone to behave in a friendly and respectful manner in our space. If your guest is found to be abusive, disrespectful, or disruptive, we will ask you and your guest to leave the coworking space. Members are encouraged to share this Code of Conduct with their guests.

Sleeping
You don’t have to go home, but you can’t live here. As a 24/7 facility, Domi Station is used by coworking members at all times of the day. Sleeping or napping in our facility is disruptive to those working around you. If you’re feeling tired, please go home.

Welcoming

Get to know your neighbor! A friendly attitude is much appreciated. We have a lot of really cool people working out of the space. Make an effort to get to know them and learn what other people are working on.

We strive to offer events and activities to help encourage socialization directly or through partners. Come to as many as you can and we promise you’ll have fun and might make a friend or two.

Unacceptable behavior
Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions by anyone in our space, online networks, and in all related events and communication, will not be tolerated.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, reasonably offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expressed sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity or religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.

Impact trumps intention - Recognize the effects of your actions are more important than your intent.

See something, do something - Intervene directly (or find someone to help) when witnessing abusive behavior of any degree. Alert our staff if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this code of conduct, even if it seems inconsequential.

Coworkers asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. You can also send your report via email to coworking@domistation.org.

Collaboration

Working together is a huge part of Domi Station. The space itself is designed to get you to meet your neighbors. To achieve a truly collaborative community, we need to actively pursue opportunities to connect, thus growing our mutual friendship and trust.

No solicitation
If someone wants your services, they’ll come to you. People are here to work, not to be sold to.

Sharing Ideas
Sharing ideas is a large part of the coworking experience, and we want to encourage our members to feel free to share them with everyone in the space. However, if one coworker’s idea is disclosed to the public or used by another, trust among our members erodes and they will be less inclined to share them, defeating our goal of building a lasting community. Should a coworker share an idea with you, please be mindful that the idea may be valuable to them. Do not share the idea with third parties or use the idea as your own.

Trust

Always be honest and transparent. As a member of Domi Station, you have access to a large network of mentors, entrepreneurs, and coworking members. We expect all information shared with the network about you and your business to be truthful. Trust is very important to us and we will not tolerate the dissemination of misleading information, or any actions that take advantage of our community.

Unacceptable practices
Pyramid schemes or multilevel marketing companies are not allowed at Domi Station. Any unlawful or illegal practices will not be tolerated in the space.

Complaints about dogs by members and guests will be closely examined, and we will request that disruptive pets be removed from the space.

Designated Areas
Dogs are allowed in your office suite, and might be allowed in coworking spaces depending on their behavior and as long as they are not disruptive to other coworkers. Dogs can be walked outside on our parking lot and surrounding areas. Dogs are not allowed in the kitchen, food preparation areas, restrooms, mechanical rooms, and any such areas as designated by the building manager.

ENFORCEMENT

Consequences of violations

Unacceptable behavior from any member, including event organizers, staff, and guests, will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to cease a violating behavior is expected to comply immediately and will be asked to leave the premises.

We may additionally decide to take any action we deem appropriate, including, but not limited to, a temporary or permanent ban from Domi Station without warning and without refund of prepaid fees.

Addressing grievances

If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct, you should notify staff or an event organizer with a concise description of your grievance.
