Board Member Spotlight: David Lawson

David Lawson has lived in Tallahassee over 15 years and is a long-time entrepreneur and co-founder of Domi Station. David is currently serving on the Domi Board of Directors and is the Co-Founder & CEO of NewSci LLC, an augmented intelligence company that provides critical solutions for the public, education and social sectors. While David admits that his life's work as an entrepreneur has given him a few grey(ish) hairs, his greatest successes and failures have taught him to focus on what you can control. His successes include founding, building, and exiting his last business, Prospect Information Network. David would describe Tallahassee as on it’s way to becoming an ideal startup location due to the combined efforts of the community, government, academic and business sectors. 

David believes deeply in the mission of Domi Station to provide a home and community for all local entrepreneurs. With numerous accomplishments under his belt, including being on the set of The Exorcist, David considers himself an idea guy. Taking a business idea through each development stage is the work David loves best. He is quick to remind anyone that you can fail alone, but you cannot succeed alone. 

Pro Tip: A hard earned lesson is to be persistent, not stubborn, as you build and grow your business. It is highly unlikely your initial vision will fully survive reality, so be prepared to pivot.
