Gear Up Lab: Fostering Company Culture

Professor McHaffie has been on the faculty of FSU’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship since 2018. As an entrepreneur he spent 35 years as a trades services provider – primarily as an electrical contractor. His journey included a wide variety of projects as a builder of custom homes, as well as commercial projects. Qualified with six professional certifications in two states, his expertise includes roof systems and solar/renewable energy systems and he holds licensure as a Florida & Georgia Licensed Electrical Contractor, Class A Air Conditioning Contractor, General Contractor and Roofing contractor. As a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker, his range included residential and commercial real estate sales, investment, management, and leasing. Clients served include those in the financial, hospitality, healthcare, retail, and institutional segments. He is also ASHE Certified as a Healthcare Facility Manager. He served as a Board Member for the Florida Electrical Contractors Licensing Board from 2013-2015. His adjunct instructional roles include affiliations with Florida A & M University, Tallahassee Community College, and UCF’s Florida Solar Energy Center.
